The Sweet Pain of Separation

Holding my arms around you,
Trying to infuse strength in you,
And, extract some of it from you,
To endure the goodbyes in due.
Eyes shimmer with unshed tears,
Heart punctures with an unknown fear,
Stifling back screams of pain;
But all in a great deal vain,
Looking for ways to make it memorable moment;
Instead, it turned into a sweet torment;
The anticipated moment of separation was here;
You were to stay, I was to leave,
For us both, it was too much to bear,
Crying in each other's arms, a sigh of loss we heave,
No words seeming right enough to be our last, before we part;
Fighting back a fresh round of tears, crossing your heart,
See you! You said at last.
A blur clouding your vision much too fast;
I said, it's all a nightmare;
I'll always be with you, there.
In that moment, turning distanced desperation;
Into a sweet pain of separation.
