It's post Valentine's and I am here, still wondering what causes such a hullabaloo on this day of the year to express all their love towards their Love on this very particular day of the year (especially youngsters). And, this is what got me thinking, today relationships are like the latest favorite song of ours which we play a hundreds of time after we first hear it. Then, when we are slightly bored with the song we start looking for alternatives to be played on our playlist. And, finally the song that we once thought was the best song that we had ever heard, is removed off our playlist. So is with the relationships.
And. then I hear the songs of the golden era that make so much of an appeal to me, from their lyrics, to the notes and their wonderful composition; they never lose their melody. And, then I look at my parents who tied their knot in an arranged marriage but savor their love each day, love for each other is their melody of life, they fall in love with the life's symphony that is all about spending an entire lifetime with each other. Every time I see them holding hands, my heart says touch wood and God bless! And, they don't ever feel the need to give each other presents on Valentine's or for that matter any other day. The biggest and the most beautiful gift that they ever got each other, was an eternity of togetherness.
There is so much of a rush in times today that we have almost forgotten the beauty of cherished relationships in our lives that last a lifetime. Call me a silly romantic but, I, deep down my heart pine for a person who becomes not just the melody of my life but also defines it's lyrics.
